We offer practical, hands-on classes and CEs for lymph massage, taught by Juul Bruin, NCBTMB Provider# 452061-12, who has been a Certified Lymphedema Therapist for over a decade. In these classes, you will learn why people develop chronic diseases with in-depth lectures on toxicity in the lymphatic system, and learn manual lymph drainage massage, to help with issues like:

Lymph massage, detoxification and minor pathologies are followed by a class:
Understanding Lymphedema. If you want to learn manual lymph massage, the first class is perfect. You will learn Lymphatic Detoxification and how the lymph system affects chronic disease. In the second class we will discuss what happens to the lymphatic pathways and how lymphedema develops. It is highly recommended to take the second class if you work with breast cancer or Lymphedema patients. It is crucial to understand the pathways of the lymph system when working with Lymphedema.

First Class:
Lymph Massage, Protocol for detoxification and minor pathologies

In this course you will learn to better understand The Lymph System and its relationship to detoxification and chronic conditions. Learn Full Body Manual Lymph drainage during these three days to incorporate with ease into your practice. We will discuss why people develop chronic conditions with lectures on toxicity in the lymphatic system to help with issues like; migraines, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, wound healing, and so much more.

Day 1

  • Introduction, check in
  • Lecture: Lymphatic system and its function
  • Lunch
  • Lecture: Identifying stagnant and congested tissues visually and through palpation techniques, to determine the causes of congestion and stagnation.

Day 2

  • Protocol of Manual Lymph Drainage for neck and face and possible indications. Practical application and exchange
  • Lunch
  • Protocol of abdomen, back, buttocks and possible indications. Practical application and exchange.

Day 3

  • Protocol upper extremities, lower extremities and possible indications. Practical application and exchange.
  • Lunch
  • Review of Protocols, discussion of benefits of Manual Lymph Drainage in detoxifying the body. Methods of detoxifying the body and implications through massage. Discussion on how to communicate detoxification principles to clients and stay within scope of practice.
  • Closing

 

Second Class:
Understanding Lymphedema

This course will serve as a continuation to the first class; Lymph Massage for Minor Pathologies. In Understanding Lymphedema we will discuss what Lymphedema really is. We will discuss the distinction between Primary Lymphedema and Secondary Lymphedema and how to best approach each pathology in the treatment room. We will bring understanding to the pathways of the lymphatic system and how to work with a compromised lymphatic system. (You will need to purchase compression bandages, short stretch bandages in a variety of widths for arms and legs, optional purchases include tubular gauze, rosidal foam and/or anything comparable to be placed under the bandages)
Day 1:

  • Introduction & Check-in
  • Lecture on Primary Lymphedema
  • Lunch
  • Protocol for Manual Lymph Drainage of Different Primary Lymphedema Conditions

Day 2:

  • Lecture on Secondary Lymphedema
  • How to Navigate through a Compromised Lymphatic System
  • Lunch
  • Protocols for Different Affected Lymphatic Systems

 

Day 3:

  • Summing It All Up
  • Lunch
